When the Cornish weather closes in or you simply fancy a change of pace from walking the moor, the games room at South Priddacombe is the place to be. It’s a relaxed, informal space in one of the old farm buildings, set up for simple, old-fashioned fun.
Table Tennis, Table Football & More
The upstairs of the barn has been turned into a games room for guests to use during their stay. You’ll find:
- Table tennis – ideal for family tournaments or a quick game before supper
- Table football – great for children, teenagers and competitive grown-ups alike
- Darts
It’s deliberately low-key and informal – the sort of place where you can wander up in walking boots, set up a quick match and spend an hour or two out of the wind and rain.
When you need a break from all that running around, the external granite steps that lead up to the Games Room are our favourite spot for catching another amazing Bodmin Moor sunset.
Perfect for Rainy Days and Evenings In
South Priddacombe is all about simple pleasures: long walks, big skies and quiet evenings by the fire. The games room adds another option for those times when you want to stay on site but still have something to do together.
Guests often use the barn for:
- Rainy-day entertainment with children
- Friendly family tournaments after supper
- Letting teenagers have their own space for an hour or two
It’s a useful extra space, especially for larger groups taking the main house and the West Wing together.
A Simple, Rural Space
The games room is part of a working moorland farmstead, so expect a straightforward, practical space rather than a polished leisure complex. That’s very much in keeping with the rest of South Priddacombe: characterful buildings, fresh air, and room to spread out.
Because of the barn setting, children should be supervised, and younger guests may need a hand with things like reaching table tennis balls or setting up the games.
The games room is just one part of the wider experience at South Priddacombe, alongside the woodburners, library of books and 90 acres of moorland outside the door. Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a multi-generational get-together or a quiet week away with friends, it gives you an extra option when you want to stay onsite and unwind.
